Rear Window

I want to do something different. The movie blog has been up for a year and a half, and there are over 200(!) movies listed. Rather than go on and on about the movies I watch and like, I’d like this to be more interactive – a virtual film society.

August’s movie is “Rear Window”. It’s easy to find, it’s in English and it’s in color. Even if you never watched it, you’ve seen the movie through parody and homage.

Rules are:
1. Rent the movie.
2. Watch the movie before the end of August.
3. Write a paragraph or two or ten about your experience – anything you want.
4. Post it. Under separate e-mail, I’m sending you permission to post. If that is too big a commitment, then post a comment under someone else’s posting.

That’s it. Come on. It’ll be fun.

Rear Window was so much fun to watch. It has the right amount of tension - so as to get the blood going, but not so much that I couldn't sleep. Very fun movie.

Every time I see this movie, I still feel the tension, even though I know the ending.

I also love Raymond Burr's kitchen, seen through Jimmy Stewart's lens. It's the exact kitchen we had in grad student housing in the 1980s.
