In “Le Boucher” (French), just watch the tension building. You know what the movie’s doing, and yet you still watch it just as you would watch an accident occur.

Ed Crane, “The Man Who Wasn’t There” doesn’t know anything about his heart, or the darkness that lies therein, he just responds to whatever is in front of him. Funny and ghoulish at the same time.
