Program – Kitchen Sink Part 2

Two latter examples of social realist (i.e. “Kitchen Sink”) dramas. Of such quality as to inspire Morrissey. (No, they didn’t inspire any actual Morrissey songs, but they’re good enough to.)

“Letter to Brezhnev” is an unrecognized classic. Story is different, acting is great. It has a good sense of its own time and place. Good rental.

In “Gone Baby Gone”, Amy Ryan steals the movie with her heartbreaking performance as the bad mom trying to get her kid back.
