It's beautifully directed and photographed. It's a great melodrama. It inspired some wonderful movies -- at least from the perspective of 50+ years later (see next week). Watch it. Realize, my friends, in melodramas, it is a man's world. Rock Hudson pays no price for his behavior, other than what the screenwriters and director lay on him in order to keep him in the story.
