Start with these two. You’ll begin to understand.Based upon the Kurosawa film, “The Magnificent Seven” is just an exercise for cool guys to be in a cool Western.
“Junior Bonner” is a modern Western – rodeo time. As in his other movies, Steve McQueen, does better with little dialog than seasoned actors do with more lines. Alert: This is a well-made movie, directed by Sam Peckinpah. While it isn’t violent in the manner of other Peckinpah films, if you have issues with rodeos, don’t watch it.

By the way, McQueen did more than Westerns. “The Great Escape”, “The Sand Pebbles”, “Le Mans”, and “The Getaway” are other movies to rent.
