This started as a DVD queue list for a friend.
It grew and grew and took on a life of its own. Oh well.

The Willow Tree (Persian/French)
Beautifully realized parable from Iranian director Majid Majidi (who also directed "Children of Heaven"). Yusef, a university professor who was blinded as an early teenager, regains the ability to see thirty some years later. Emotionally powerful and complex, "The Willow Tree" (Persian/French) suffers only slightly when the story needs to unfold.
This is where we suggest DVDs that we have seen and liked or that friends /family may have missed. We try not to review them so much as give an impression, as if we were talking about the movie. Essentially, "You gotta watch this one." Programs are two DVDs that watched back-to-back seem to have greater resonance than watching them one at a time.
