Program – Painful

Michael Haneke's "Funny Games" is a transgressive, wants-to-have-it-both-ways movie about violence. It really needs to be seen seen with something else to be taken as seriously as it wants to be. Thus...




Polanski's production of Ariel Dorfman's play, "Death and the Maiden" is good Roman Polanski and an decent thriller about a serious subject. A woman accidentally finds herself confronting a man she is sure tortured her many years earlier. She needs closure, and thinks that means revenge.
